Nozomi Networks – A Gartner Cool Vendor That’s Getting Hot

Last week, we were honored to learn that Nozomi Networks is a 2017 Gartner Cool Vendor. With this news, we join organizations recognized each year by Gartner analysts for their innovation, impact and intrigue in the markets they serve.

In our discussions with customer and prospects in oil and gas, utilities and other critical infrastructure sectors, it’s clear that technology executives and industry leaders worldwide rely on Gartner for valuable insights and direction. We are excited that our innovation and its positive impact on ICS cyber security will now be brought to the attention of more companies around the globe.

Strong Founders, Team and Product Address OT Security Challenges

I formally joined Nozomi Networks back in October 2016 because I believed in its founders, Andrea Carcano and Moreno Carullo. They created an amazing product and deployed it with large scale customers in Europe. I was extremely impressed by the strength of the product and by the team’s ninja skills when it comes to customer responsiveness. We believe being named a Gartner Cool Vendor is strong validation of those strengths and of our proven value to customers everywhere.

The Gartner report notes the importance of effective OT cyber security, noting that “Operational technology (OT) environments have often overlooked proactive security defense practices, and hackers increasingly have exploited that error, evidenced by infrastructure/ attacks around the world.” It advises security and risk management leaders to “Focus on the security of their OT environments and evaluate solutions that mitigate risk and enhance overall security.”

Getting OT security right is a tough challenge and one that Nozomi Networks has been addressing since 2013. Working with our customers to ensure that we are effectively addressing their need, we’ve leveraged artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to create a single platform for both operational visibility and comprehensive ICS cyber security.

Today that platform secures tens of thousands of industrial devices around the world and we’re working with Fortinet, Check Point and more than a dozen manufacturers to reach out and help hundreds of thousands more.

Customer Growth, Strategic Hires and Awards Indicate Company Momentum

I am also very pleased to share the news that the company has seen better than expected market growth in both North America and Europe and that we exceeded our 2017 Q1 forecast for customer acquisition. We have deployed our solutions to leaders in key industries such as electric power, oil and gas, nuclear and manufacturing.

In addition, the company today announced it has added Chief Marketing Officer Kim Legelis and Vice President of Business Development Chet Namboodri to the company’s management team. Both bring deep experience and valuable business relationships in industrial networking and ICS cyber security forged during their previous tenures with Cisco Systems, GE, Lockheed Martin, Industrial Defender and Symantec.

Finally, industry accolades continue to accumulate. Nozomi Networks was recognized at the RSA Conference as Cyber Defense Magazine’s Cutting Edge ICS/SCADA Security Solution Winner. The company won the popular vote in this year’s Cyber security Excellence Awards; and just last week Nozomi Networks was named a Red Herring Top 100 North America Winner.
