CS Advisory Webinar WEBINAR 1

Webinar: Nozomi Networks Product Vulnerability Prioritization – A Deep Dive with the ICS Advisory Project

February 7, 2023  | 10 AM EST

REGISTER

Today there are thousands of known product vulnerabilities to OT and ICS systems from each vendor that produces the machinery and equipment used in electric utilities for transmission and distribution.

While each vulnerability is published with an associated common vulnerability scoring system (CVSS) score, it is impossible to immediately understand how severe the vulnerability will be for one entity’s risk profile based off of the designated severity of the vulnerability.

The ICS Advisory Project is an open-source project to provide DHS CISA ICS-CERT Advisories data visualized as a dashboard and in Comma Separated CVS format to support vulnerability analysis for the OT/ICS community. This webinar will discuss how security researchers report on and disclose vulnerability information, the relationship between researchers, product vendors/manufacturers and end users, and what to do with the information shared.

A preview of questions that will be covered include:

  • What is the vulnerability pipeline and why is it important?
  • What might delay or deter a vendor from releasing a patch if/when they don’t produce one for an extended period of time after disclosure?
  • How can people familiarize themselves with the ICS Advisory Project dashboard and make best use of it in their own security planning and processes?
  • How does Nozomi Networks’ product team incorporate known and disclosed vulnerabilities into their products and solutions?

Speakers:

  • Daniel Ricci, Founder, ICS Advisory Project
  • Anton Shipulin, Industrial Cybersecurity Evangelist, Nozomi Networks
  • Roya Gordon, Security Research Evangelist, Nozomi Networks
