August 3 – 8, 2019, Las Vegas, NV, United States

Nozomi Networks was thrilled to participate in Black Hat USA 2019, the world’s leading information security event, and sponsor our partner Accenture Security’s House of Blues event. During the conference, attendees learned about the latest research on security trends and risks, and had the opportunity to increase their security defense skills through hands-on training.

As part of the Smart Grid/Industrial Security track, Nozomi Networks Co-founder and CPO Andrea Carcano, along with Security Researches Alessandro di Pinto and Younes Dragoni, hosted a session called “The Future of Securing Intelligent Electronic Devices Using IEC 62351-7 Standard for Monitoring”. They discussed how IIoT and the convergence of IT and OT is changing the threat landscape for industrial organizations. They also reviewed how standards such as IEC 62351 can be leveraged to monitor network and system health, detect security intrusions and manage the performance and reliability of the information infrastructure. This makes it possible to move beyond passive monitoring to an active interaction with devices deployed inside the network. The Nozomi Networks team of security researchers also presented a live analysis of threat detection with IEC 62351 and SNMP.
