October 4-7, 2021 | Washington DC and Virtual
Increased reliance on the cloud—for everything. Rising threat activity and more sophisticated threat actors. Business and financial risk at an all-time high.
The new normal demands that we have strong, trusted defenses. That we confront threats with renewed resilience, agility and innovation. That we anticipate, validate and justifiably assure our security. As security professionals, we must never give up, never lay down our guard, never call it a day—and always strive to be better.
Join us in-person or virtually at the Cyber Defense Summit 2021 for insightful conversations, best practices and innovative ideas that can help protect you against today’s threats and tomorrow’s risks.
Don’t miss our [VIRTUAL] speaking session! Long-Range Disruption of Industrial Processes Using Drones and LoRaWAN
October 6, 2021 | 12:00 – 12:45pm EST
LoRaWAN is a widespread technology used in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications to cover long-range communications, focusing on low power consumption. The technology is ideal for distributed infrastructures like oil pipelines, smart cities, and healthcare monitoring where the collection and analysis of information is challenging. In this session, we will demonstrate how a motivated threat actor can disrupt an industrial process by interfering with the LoRaWAN sensors. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with dedicated sensors are used to discover, track and attack the LoRa infrastructure by using modulated signal information. Once the targets are located, the attack will continue guiding the drones closer to the target in order to disrupt the communications, making the sensors unable to keep communicating their data. We’ll explore and demonstrate how novel approaches can be used to disrupt LoRaWAN in real-world, distributing industrial control systems.
