Gartner often publishes Critical Capabilities research notes as companions to their Magic Quadrants. The research is designed to provide deeper insights into the products and services available from vendors evaluated in a given Magic Quadrant and help buyers understand which products and services are a best fit for common usage scenarios.
For the 2026 Critical Capabilities for CPS Protection Platforms note, Gartner evaluated vendors across four use cases and Nozomi Networks received the highest scores in all of them:

Gartner Signals Sustained Focus on Rapidly Evolving CPS Cybersecurity Market
Gartner coined the phrase “cyber-physical systems protection platforms” in late 2024 and made the first Magic Quadrant for CPS protection platforms widely available in February 2025, closely followed by the first Critical Capabilities research note. According to its FAQs for Magic Quadrants and Critical Capabilities, “Gartner selects markets that are established, distinct and viable where comparative vendor analysis is valuable to clients.” Complementary Critical Capabilities reports “provide deeper analysis of products/services by use case, helping clients match offerings to their specific needs.”
To us, the ongoing attention to this market signals the convergence of mounting need, scale and market and vendor maturity. It provides much-needed independent evaluation and guidance to CISOs just as many are assuming responsibility and accountability for enterprise-wide risk, which includes OT and IoT assets and networks — security domains they often know little about. For industrial organizations, OT and IoT may comprise the fast-growing part of their attack surface, and the part CISOs have invested the least in protecting.
